Now that Governor Wolf has closed down all non “life-sustaining businesses” we are left with few places that can still operate in this heightened crisis, and among them are places of worship and prayer!!!
As I have told so many that the devil might have his finger on the closing of our public worship and the ability to offer the sacrifice of the Mass, but Christ continues to wrap us around His most Sacred Heart!!
To be recognized by the governor as a “life-sustaining business” is the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus’ promise to be with always unto the end of time! Saint Paul also said as he wrote in chapter 8 of his letter to the Romans: Nothing can separate us from the love of God!!!
What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?
As it is written:
“For your sake we are being slain all the day; we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Come and make a prayer visit to a life-sustaining station…the Church!
- Immaculate Conception Church is open 24/7 for prayer (enter from Oak street)
- Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. (enter through the single door next to Mary’s garden)
Come alone, or as a family. Get out of the house and sustain your soul and quiet the fear and anxiety. Pray before the Blessed Sacrament…pray the rosary…sit in the quiet presence of the Lord. Calm your fears and grow in peace…for nothing can separate us from the love of God… for He is life-giving and life-sustaining…Eternal Life!!!
NOTE: If others are present, remember your social distancing is the space of two pews between you!!!
